Packing for Two

I am 30 yrs old, and I have only worried about "ME" my entire life. Now that I have an adorable little 2 month old, things are a little different!! We are leaving tomorrow to go to Houma, LA (where we are from) for Thanksgiving week. It's not that easy packing all of my things, and everything I need for Callie..goodness!!! We look like we are going away for a month!!! Anyhow, we are really looking forward to spending this week with great family and friends...we can't wait for everyone to meet the "Cal girl!" Upon our return, I will post pics from our week in Houma. Oh, another thing...this is our first time traveling with a 2 month old..the furtherest we have gone with Callie is to the mall, and that is only 5 miles away!!!! This 6 hr trip should be quite an adventure!!!!!!!!!

Who said the car seat was just for the car?

This morning, Callie's reflux was really "acting up." Poor baby was not comfortable being propped up on her boppy pillow, so I thought..let's use the car seat..she did GREAT! We ended up reading a Walt Disney book, "Seasons and Holidays." She was very content; well, just for a little while!

GEAUX TIGERS!!

These pics were taken about 6 weeks ago, but I had to post them! LSU has a new cheerleader, Ms. Callie Nicole Hodges!!! Every Saturday, I dress her in her "cheer costume" and we watch the game! Thanks, Ms. Misty and Mr. Jason for my outfit..I love it!

"Big Girl" Chair

The Cal girl loves chilling in her "big girl" chair. We watch cartoons, the news, and soaps together. Also, she loves her pink rabbie..thanks, Ms. Kelli, for my rabbie..I love it!
Callie and her pink Rabbie

HUGE milestone

I am happy to say that Ms. Callie slept from 9 p.m. last night till 8 a.m. this morning! I put Callie down for bedtime at 9 p.m. every night. Usually, she will wake up around 4 a.m. or 4:30 for a bottle and diaper change, sometimes she will make it to 6:30 a.m.; well, not last night!!!!!!!! When Cal woke up this morning, she was in much need of a diaper change and she sucked down 6.5 oz in 8 minutes..poor baby was starving!!! Jeff and I are hoping this cycle continues...we woke up refreshed and happy! Thanks Callie! We love you bunches!

Callie Nicole is 2 months old!

I know these pics are late; however, here are 3 pics from when she was 2 months old! Everyday is a fashion show here! I love dressing her up! God really knew to bless me with a sweet little girl! :)

It's 5:00 somewhere!!!

5:00 in our household consists of getting supper ready, giving Callie girl her bath, feeding Tootsie, and giving Callie her 5:00 bottle; anyhow, despite all of the craziness, the Cal girl LOVES her baths! We look forward to bathtime everyday at 5! We play, splash, and listen to music!

Trying to get things done!!!!!

Well, Ms. Callie Nicole loves to be held or played with 24/7...so, when do I ever have time to get anything done!?!? I need to clean house, cook, wash clothes, make a grocery list, start packing for Houma, and the list goes on....so, I decided to put her in her "bouncy chair" and stick in a Baby Einstein DVD..it was MAGIC! She was so amazed and just stared at the TV..she was pretty occupied for about 45 min..at least I was able to get a few things accomplished!

Activity Time

Everymorning Callie has a bottle around 10 a.m. After her bottle, we do a little activity. Today we read the book, "Where is Baby's Belly Button?" She was tickled to death when I read this book and played with her little belly button, then feet, eyes, ears, nose, toes, etc. She laughed and laughed!!! God Bless children because they find joy in so many things that adults have forgotten! Here are 2 pics of the Cal girl during her activity (one pic is of her in her play gym..she loves it!!)

Callie Nicole is 10 weeks old

Our little angel is already 10 weeks old! Where does the time go?? She is getting so big and is changing by the day. We had our 2 month checkup (at 8 weeks old) and the doctor said she is THRIVING, and is a little "social butterfly!" Hmm...I wonder where she gets that from!?!? On her checkup, she weighed 12 lbs 2 oz and was 23.25 in. long! She is very healthy and doing great, despite the COLIC and REFLUX! :(

Our Alone Time Together

I hate leaving the Callie girl because I miss her sooooo much. However, Jeff and I wanted to get away for a few hours on Sunday for some much needed "alone time" and adult conversation. My mom and dad, Mimi and Papa, came over to watch the Cal girl while Jeff and I took off to Goose's Acre on the Waterway, then to PF Chang's for a little anniversary dinner. Of course I had to call my parents every 30 minutes to check on her!!!!! Anyhow, Callie was an angel for the grandparents and Jeff and I really enjoyed our outing! Happy 7 yr anniversary, baby!

Our 7 yr weekend anniversary

Well, we made it!!! Jeff and I have been married for 7 yrs..WOW! The best part was that we were able to spend our anniversary with the Callie girl. On Saturday, we took off to Los Cucos to have a nice little Mexican lunch, and she was an absolute doll. She slept the entire time..we did not hear one peep out of her.

Why Am I blogging?

I am starting this blog because I figured it would give me something to do during the day when Callie is sleeping and a way for all of our friends and family to keep up with "What's Happening in the Hodges' household!" I will try to update this blog weekly with cute photos and funny stories of our life here in The Woodlands. Currently, Callie is 10 weeks old and she is an absolute doll! She laughs, coo's, smiles, and CRIES!! She keeps me so busy that I have to stop and ask myself, "Have you eaten anything today? When was the last time you showered?" Anyhow, we are enjoying every minute with our sweet baby girl and are so blessed to have her in our lives!
