We are THRILLED and OVERJOYED...Ms. Callie Nicole turned over twice today for the 1st time...go Callie girl! Much to my dismay, I MISSED it!!!! I bathed Callie, then placed her on her back for "blankey time." I left the room for about 5 seconds to empty her tub and when I returned, I found her on her tummy!!! She couldn't roll back over, so I placed her back on her back and called Jeff. Then, about 30 seconds later, she rolled over again and I got to see her!!! I am so proud of you, Callie.

Whew...what a day! I need to chill for a minute in my diaper!

Today, mommy decided to go back to the Y to workout. She wanted to bring me along and leave me with the Child Care Watch Program at the Y. Well, if we were going to the gym, then I definitely needed to dress for the gym! Mommy dressed me in a cute little jogging outfit, and everyone thought I was a doll! I was very good for the sitters, I played with some other babies, and swang! That was lots of funny, mommy! I hope we can do that everyday! :)

Mommy had a few errands to run today, so daddy babysat the Cal girl. I dressed Callie in one of her new leopard print outfits from HO HO, and she was "dolled up" for the day. Much to my surprise, she looked totally different upon my return home. Jeff informed me that it was too difficult to change her diaper in the outfit I had her in, and she would be more comfortable in a sleep sack and diaper since it was a lazy Saturday at home. What can I say???? Anyhow, she was well taken care of, fed, and he even put her down for the afternoon nap. Great job, daddy!

Lunch Date

This morning, Jeff played golf with my dad, a customer, and our friend, Chris, at Augusta Pines here in The Woodlands. They wrapped up their golf game around noon, so mom, me, Callie girl, and Heidi (my friend and Chris's wife) headed to the club to meet them for lunch. We had a great time and enjoyed lunching and visiting with everyone post Christmas. Here is a pic of Callie girl pre-lunch all dressed up and ready to meet daddy, Papa, and Mr. Chris!

Merry Christmas to all of our wonderful family and friends! We love all of you and hope you have a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! But, we can't forget the most important reason to celebrate Christmas - today is Christ's birthday! Happy Birthday to our Savior! God sent his son, Jesus Christ, to die for our sins so we could have eternal life with him. Christ is the "reason for the season," and we praise HIM in HIS holy name! It is always a tradition in our family to go out to eat for a nice dinner on Christmas Eve, then return home to exchange gifts and get ready for HO HO! This year, we had a "new addition" to our family to accompany us on our dinner extravaganza - yes, Ms. Callie Nicole. At first the evening started out a little rocky...Ms. Callie was woken up from her nap, I dressed her in a beautiful dress, one that she would call ridiculous, uncomfortable, and hot, she was cranky, hungry, and we deviated from her routine. All of the above "stirred the pot" for an irritable baby in the restaurant. However, we managed to get through - many thanks to my mom and dad for their help. After leaving our steak dinner, we took the party to our home to exchange gifts and let Callie girl play in her diaper and sleep sack (plus, she needed to head to bed because HO HO was coming bright and early in the A.M.)! We had a lovely Christmas Eve, and the best part was spending the evening with our brand new baby girl~~~she is a little angel! We love you, Callie!

The end of an era...the beginning of a new one

Ms. Callie girl has been sleeping in our room in her pack n play since we got home from the hospital on Sept. 6th. Yes, I will admit that I have been quite nervous about transitioning her into her room/crib. Now, Callie does sleep during the day in her little crib, but I always kept her with us at night. Well, it's time to put those nights behind us and begin something new. I bought a motion monitor at Babies R Us that detects her sounds and movements. If she stops moving for 20 seconds, the monitor sensor pad will detect it and the alarm will sound off in our room. So, Jeff and I spent yesterday afternoon setting up the monitor so she could sleep in her "big girl" bed last night. We are VERY proud to say that Ms. Callie slept from 8:30 p.m. till 7:00 a.m. She did GREAT in her "big girl" bed. However, we did have a little scare..the alarm sounded off at 11 p.m. last night, and Jeff FLEW out of bed, and he found a little peaceful angel in a deep sleep...
Last night was difficult for me and I woke every hour to check on her. :(

Yes, Callie girl has finally found her toes, and not only did she find them, but she grabbed them and laughed! This afternoon was quite comical as she chilled in her diaper during "blankey time" and played around with her new "obsession!"

Week One Weigh In

Well, I am back on weight watchers!!! I have a TON of baby weight to shed; although, I am not looking at it that way. I am visioning a healthier, slimmer me with my goal weight in sight and definitely reachable and maintainable!!!! I started Friday, Dec. 12th...yes, it's crazy during the holidays with parties, Christmas, and Jeff's b-day! But, I thought...I would rather lose weight than gain during this time of year. Anyhow, I am VERY happy to say that I lost 2.5 lbs my first week....also, we had a Christmas party to attend and Jeff's b-day was Wednesday, so not too bad!!!! I am pleased with my success and feel motivated to continue!!! Yay me! :)))))

Tootsie Bella Hodges was in "BIG TROUBLE" this morning!!!!!!!!!!!!! Getting on and in the baby's crib is a big NO NO NO here in our household. I go after Toots with the water bottle when she does this. However, she is determined to get in Cal's crib. Tootsie, when are you going to learn??????

Hey, mommy!!!

Everymorning, Callie goes down for a nap around 7:15 a.m. I place her "back down" on her sleep positioner and let her face the mobile. Well, this morning around 9 a.m., I heard her moving around in her crib (it was time for her to wake up anyway from her morning nap), and I found her turned around...it was hilarious...she was laughing and just about as happy as she could be!!

Last night, Callie girl and I took Jeff out for his birthday. We went to Cafe Adobe to have some much needed and delicious mexican food. Despite our crazy shopping trip, Callie was on her BEST behavior at Adobe...she laughed, cooed, giggled, and had lots of fun! The couple sitting next to our table said, "Wow, you have a very well-behaved baby!" I thought, well you didn't see her in action today..LOL! Just joking, Callie..mommy loves you! Anyhow, we had great fajitas, then when we got home, Callie and I sang Jeff happy birthday and gave him his cookie cake that I had made for him at the mall...he had a great birthday and we enjoyed celebrating it with him! We love you, Jeff!!! :))))))))))

Shopping with a 3 month old

Yesterday, my mom, Callie, and I set off to Babies R Us, then the mall. Shopping with a 3 month old..oh, no..it won't be that bad during Christmas...she will sleep in her stroller...it will be great...we will get lots of shopping done.....YEAH RIGHT!!!!!!!! Callie was in a MOOD yesterday. She wanted to be held the entire time, then she was hungry, but when I stopped to fix her bottle and feed her, she wasn't hungry, then she needed a diaper change, then another one, then she wanted a bottle, and the list goes on. Needless to say, we didn't get very much shopping done at all and carrying a 14 pounder through a crowded mall during Christmas was not very easy. Then, everyone wants to stop and say, "Oh, look how cute she is!" Next year, I will leave her with Jeff or a sitter!!!!!!!!!

Everymorning Callie and I pray together, then sing a few lullabies. This morning, she wanted to sit in mommy's "big girl" glider; she was precious in it. I have a book called, Baby's First Lullabies, and a CD that accompanies the book. We read and listened to a few lullabies....great morning activity!

Somehow I forgot to post pics of Callie girl when she turned 3 months old...so, here are a few pics of her now at 14 weeks. She is growing and growing. We made a trip to the doctor last week because she has been sick with coughing and sneezing; well, they weighed her and she is a whopping 14 lbs 2 oz...she is sucking down 7-8oz of formula at a time and still shows signs of being hungry! We will visit the doctor again on Jan. 6th for our 4 month checkup.
